Reboundig

Rebounding is the most important thing when you are the defender, instead of the other team making a shot, you can rebound the ball and pull a fast break on them. Rebounding is the best thing you can do while you are defending. When a person is trying to rebound the ball, you have to box out the person you are defending, because if you dont do that then the player might get the rebound and shoot a lay-up or a shot. Also when a person shoots the ball, when it hits the rim go after the ball.

The first step of having a successful rebound is to box out your player. Like I said in the beginning, when you box out the offensive player, you have a better chance of rebounding the ball. " If you dont box out your opponent she has a chance to slip inside you and get first try at the ball" (126).

for the second step, you need to be able to go up for the ball after the ball hits the rim, Like I also said in the beginning, to be able to get the rebound, you need to know when to get it, and you need to get it when the ball hits the rim. " Timing is critical in rebounding. Jump a second early or late and youre not going to get the ball"( 128). . Also when rebounding the ball make sure to hold the ball tight so no one steals it.

Question: rebounding is really easy for me against shorter girls. But when it comes to taller girls, not as quite as easy. How do you rebound against a tall person? and how do you box them out?
